It was wonderful to see so many Pony Club NSW clubs and members getting involved in Do It For Dolly Day, proudly wearing blue and coming together to support such an important cause.
Across New South Wales, Pony Club clubs used the day as an opportunity to raise awareness about bullying, kindness, inclusion and youth wellbeing. From blue shirts and decorated ponies to fundraising activities, rally day games, group discussions and acts of kindness, it was fantastic to see our Pony Club community embracing the message behind the day.
Pony Club has always been about so much more than horse riding. It is about building confidence, developing friendships, learning respect, supporting teammates and creating safe spaces where young riders feel encouraged, included and valued. Days like Do It For Dolly Day are a powerful reminder of the important role Pony Club clubs, volunteers and families play in helping young people understand the impact of bullying and the importance of choosing kindness.
Many clubs incorporated the theme into their regular Pony Club rally days, using the opportunity to start meaningful conversations with members about what it means to be a good friend, how to support others, and why inclusion matters. These conversations are especially important in youth sport and equestrian communities, where children and teenagers are not only learning horse riding and horsemanship skills, but also valuable life skills that stay with them well beyond Pony Club.
It was also lovely to see the creativity and enthusiasm shown by clubs across the state. Whether it was blue ribbons, blue shirts, decorated horses and ponies, kindness activities, team challenges, shared lunches or fundraisers, every effort helped shine a light on the message that bullying has no place in our clubs, schools or communities.
Pony Club NSW would like to thank every club, volunteer, parent, rider and supporter who helped make the day so special. Your involvement showed the true spirit of Pony Club — community, respect, teamwork, kindness and care for one another.
Together, we can continue to encourage kindness, stand against bullying and help ensure every young person feels safe, supported and that they truly belong.
Thank you to all Pony Club NSW clubs who went blue for Dolly and helped share such an important message across our equestrian community.
