2026 State Combined Training & One Day Event Championships Wrap-Up

2026 State Combined Training & One Day Event Championships Wrap-Up

The 2026 Pony Club NSW State Combined Training and One Day Event Championships were held at the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre from 8–10 May, bringing together riders, families, volunteers and officials for a fantastic weekend of competition and Pony Club spirit.

Hosted in Zone 20, with the support of members from Wirlinga, Black Range and Holbrook Pony Clubs, the Championships were well organised and delivered a positive experience for riders, parents and spectators across the three days.

The event began on Friday with the State Combined Training Championships, where riders completed their dressage tests before heading into the showjumping phase. The dressage ran smoothly and on time, while the showjumping course provided a true championship-level challenge, with flowing tracks and fences built to standard.

The State One Day Event Championships followed across Saturday and Sunday, with dressage and showjumping held on Saturday before riders took to the cross-country course on Sunday. The cross-country tracks were well prepared, flowed well and included a number of new jumps, giving riders the opportunity to showcase their skills across the beautiful AWEC grounds.

Although Sunday began with a foggy Albury morning, the cross-country phase soon got underway and riders across the grades tackled their courses with determination, focus and great sportsmanship. The conditions underfoot were excellent, with previous rain helping to provide good going across the cross-country course.

A highlight of the weekend was the wonderful attitude shown by competitors. Riders were polite, supportive of one another and took great care of their horses throughout the Championships. The standard of sportsmanship and horsemanship on display was a credit to our Pony Club NSW members.

The event also ran efficiently thanks to the hard work of the organising team, officials, judges, course builders, volunteers and scoring team. Live scoring through Event Secretary helped keep results updated throughout the Championships, allowing presentations to run smoothly and giving families plenty of time to travel home safely.

Pony Club NSW would like to extend a sincere thank you to Zone 20, the host clubs, officials, judges, technical delegates, volunteers, sponsors, families and supporters who contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks also go to the many people working behind the scenes to prepare courses, assist with administration, support riders, help with merchandise, manage communications and keep the event running across the weekend.

Congratulations to all riders who competed at the 2026 State Combined Training and One Day Event Championships. It was a wonderful weekend of competition, teamwork and Pony Club spirit in Albury, and we are incredibly proud of every rider who represented their club and zone.
