PONY CLUB NSW & NCAS INSTRUCTORS UPDATE
How to Achieve update Points:
COMPULSORY
Participate in a two day NCAS refresher PCANSW State Instructors school presented by a State Coach 6
Coaching at an affiliated Pony Club. List the total number of days/hours spent coaching.
Minimum Practical component 15 hours 6
OPTIONAL
Act as a Mentor Coach for a coaching applicant for a period of not less than 6 months 4
Attend a judges school/course designing/technical delegate course run by PCA or EA 4
Obtain or renew First Aid Certificate 4
Attend a clinic as a rider or a spectator with an internationally recognised coach or a level 3 EA coach.
(Must spend at least 8 hours watching and participating). 4
Examine at Pony club C certificate level or a higher level 4
Act as a demonstration rider at an instructors school/judges course 3
Involvement in State, National or International competitions as a coach 3
Coaching other than at Pony club on a regular basis. Ie. Riding for the Disabled 2
Write an article in a magazine/newsletter on coaching riding or horse management. Please Attach 2
Complete TAFE or other recognised equine course at tertiary institution. (Supply certificate) 10
Attend a train the trainer course (TAFE, EA or private provider run) 4

HOW TO USE THE NSW/PCA NCAS UPDATE SHEET:
The Update Sheet enables you to keep a record and have verified the updating activities that you attended.
The Update Sheet is also evidence of your experience and on-going education.
When you attend an approved updating activity complete the Update Sheet as shown.
- State the date of attendance
- Record the activity
- Record the location of the activity
- Record the number of hours spent doing this activity
- Record the number of points achieved by doing this activity
- Obtain the signature of the coordinator, presenter /ZCI or club senior instructor.
